MemoryLake and Palim solve a similar problem: your AI tools forget, and the context you build in one of them does not follow you to the next. Both store memory you can retrieve from several clients.
This page does not argue about which one recalls better — we have not measured that, and we are not going to claim it without a number. It compares something you can check yourself in five minutes: who is accountable for your data, where it lives, and who else touches it.

Feature lists in this category are easy to write and hard to verify. Recall quality claims are worse: without a shared benchmark and a reproducible setup, any number is marketing. MemoryLake publishes one; we have not reproduced it, so we neither dispute nor repeat it here.
What can be verified in minutes is who stands behind the service. That is not a soft criterion — under the GDPR it decides which authority you can complain to, whose law applies, and whether there is an address that can actually receive a legal letter.
If you want a large library of integrations and published benchmark numbers today, MemoryLake is further along on both. They ship considerably more content and more listed integrations than Palim does.
If your organization has no EU data requirements and no German-language needs, the accountability gap described above may simply not matter to you. We would rather say that plainly than pretend every buyer has the same constraints.
Palim is not end-to-end or zero-knowledge encrypted. Content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM under a per-user key, and Palim can decrypt it to search and distill it. Any vendor promising both server-side intelligence and zero knowledge is describing two things that cannot hold at once.
Palim also does not sync your chats automatically. Memory is saved explicitly, by you or by your client calling a save tool, and retrieved on demand.
That is the case where the difference is sharpest. Palim names its storage location (Frankfurt, AWS eu-central-1), publishes a full subprocessor list, and has a controller established in Germany, so no Art. 27 representative is required. MemoryLake's public privacy policy names no storage location and no EU representative, as retrieved on 13 August 2026.
We do not know, and we will not claim it. MemoryLake publishes a LoCoMo score; Palim has not published a comparable measurement yet. Until we can show a reproducible number of our own, treat any recall comparison between the two as unproven.

If you need published benchmarks and the widest integration list today, MemoryLake is ahead. If you need to know where your data physically sits, who else processes it, and which authority you can turn to — Palim answers all three in writing, and MemoryLake's public policy currently answers none of them.
